Abstract: Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is a kind of clean low-carbon fuel, which is the transitional key fuel to achieve carbon
emission reduction in the shipping industry. Methane is a strong greenhouse gas, and methane slip is a difficult problem faced by
LNG dual-fuel engine. Through reducing greenhouse gas emissions by optimizing dual-fuel engine operation management and
scientific maintenance, this paper explored the new road of net-zero emission engine. Based on years of experience in dual-fuel
engine management, it can further explore the full life cycle use value of commercial marine dual-fuel engines, reduce the carbon
emissions in the daily operation of engines, and explore new low-carbon operation and maintenance management methods under
the current dual carbon energy background. This paper analyzed the characteristics and the precautions in daily operation
management of Wartsila6L20DF dual-fuel engine in detail, put forward the maintenance measures to keep the dual-fuel engine
operating efficiently in gas-mode for a long time and to reduce methane slip from the point of view of marine engine management,
aiming at strengthening the low-carbon operation and maintenance management level of the marine dual-fuel engines to ensure
the safety of ships.
